Service doesn’t always mean planting a community garden or delivering fresh water to small villages; however, those are noble acts. Service can simply be spending time with those in need of a friend – or maybe a Valentine.
Tuesday before Valentine’s Day, the Bay St. Louis Satellite Club spent the evening with residents of Dunbar Village, a local retirement community. Members, residents, and staff enjoyed a dinner full of delicious food and the company of one another and for a few short hours, residents had special Valentines. They were even able to spend the evening with Bob Hubbard, one of our most senior Rotary members with a whopping 39 years of service under his belt. The simple joys brought to the residents that evening filled our members hearts with happiness and that my friends, is a service to everyone.
