In these uncertain times, Rotary is certain to be "People of Action".

Uncertainty is not always the easiest thing to understand especially during a pandemic such as the one we’re currently experiencing. Meetings are cancelled, homes are on lockdown, and work has ceased for many people.  Toilet paper is scarce as is milk, eggs, and frozen pizzas. However, the one thing you can count on is the never-ending support of Rotary

With many of our projects on hold, the one thing we couldn’t allow is those in our community to go without. The Rotary Club of Bay St. Louis has partnered with Feeding the Gulf Coast to fund a program called Backpack Buddies over the last few years. This program ensures school-age children don’t go hungry. Bags are packed as often as needed for weekends and holidays. With the uncertainty of when they’ll be getting back to school, we decided to take an additional $2,000 of our club’s funds and stock these kiddo’s up.

We have also given an additional $5,000 to the Food Pantry located on Hwy 603 to fill the shelves with essential supplies. While we know this doesn’t come close to supplying everything needed for our community, we hope we can help many families during this crisis with the necessities they need.

We have been so fortunate to partner with the organizations like Feeding the Gulf Coast and the Food Pantry as well as the Hancock County and Bay Waveland school districts to ensure these families are well taken care of. The volunteers, teachers, and Interact Clubs have been a vital part of the success and we look forward to continuing to help in the future.
